PROJECT:RADIOVAN
Open Call for Artists / Musicians / Collectives
PROJECT:RADIONVAN iis an ongoing research project devised by Adam Walker of
normalife©. It is a recording studio and internet radio
station housed in a van. Travelling around the UK, radiovan will be an experimental
communication point for artists, communities and musicians. Starting in Newcastle
upon Tyne before moving to various locations around the country, we will build
up a cultural map of the UK, sampling the cultural produce of the country.
The resulting archive of information and recordings will then be broadcast
on an online database at www.radiovan.co.uk.
We also plan to hold a series of live events, featuring music, performances
and visuals showcasing work produced for radiovan. These will take the form
of car park gigs, video screenings, performances, seminars, etc.
normalife© invite proposals for a series of programmes
to be recorded in 2007. If you have an idea for a performance or radio show
that you would like to submit, be it a short history of Italian disco or a
call-in for a local youth club, please send it all proposals, including C.V.'s,
any relevant images and a budget for your project to normalife©,
267 Jesmond Road, Cradlewell, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE2 1LB or email info@radiovan.co.uk
We welcome proposals from everyone, with a focus on art, music, community,
and cultural diversity from all over the UK.
Deadline: September 11th 2006
